Jack Antonoff Says Questioning Taylor Swift's Songwriting 'Is Like Challenging Someone’s Faith in God'
"You come after my friend Taylor, you're toast to me," Antonoff, 39, insisted in a new interview
Jack Antonoff will always have Taylor Swift's back.
The record producer, 39, first met Swift, 34, in 2012, and they have been working together ever since. While speaking to the Los Angeles Times for a new interview, Antonoff praised Swift's incredible songwriting skills and suggested anyone who stated otherwise was "toast" to him.
In January 2022, Damon Albarn suggested Swift didn't write her own songs in an interview with the Times, which, unsurprisingly, didn't go down well with Antonoff. The songwriter called him a "herb" at the time in a Twitter post.
Discussing his social media comebacks, Antonoff told the Times, “I’m a little bitch sometimes."
“But you come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me,” Antonoff added, and even said questioning Swift’s songwriting “is like challenging someone’s faith in God. You just don’t go there.”

At the time, Swift also criticized Albarn, writing on Twitter, "@DamonAlbarn I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs." She added, "Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don't have to like my songs but it's really f---ed up to try and discredit my writing. WOW. PS I wrote this tweet all by myself in case you were wondering."
Albarn has since apologized, stating that his comments were "reduced to clickbait."
"I apologise unreservedly and unconditionally. The last thing I would want to do is discredit your songwriting. I hope you understand," he added.
