Jake Gyllenhaal and Girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu Spotted on Rare Outing in New York City — See the Photo

Jake Gyllenhaal and Jeanne Cadieu are enjoying the fresh air.

The 43-year-old actor and his girlfriend, 28, were spotted out and about in New York City on Sunday, June 16, dressed casually as they walked side by side.

Gyllenhaal was outfitted in a gray T-shirt, loose-fitting khaki pants and gray sneakers, completing the look in black sunglasses and a backwards baseball cap.

Cadieu went equally low key in sunglasses and khaki-colored jeans, red sneakers, a baseball cap and a yellow tee that read "EAT YOUR VEGGIES," in blue block lettering.

Gyllenhaal was first linked to Cadieu, a French model, in late 2018, when they were spotted on walks together in New York City and Paris.

Until making their first joint red-carpet appearance in September 2021, the pair kept their relationship extremely private. They attended a screening of The Lost Daughter at the 2021 New York Film Festival, in support of Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut. According to the actor, Cadieu was excited to support her boyfriend’s sister.

"My sister grabbed her, pulled her on that red carpet, which I think neither of us are really inclined to, you know, go on — even me," Gyllenhaal shared during an appearance on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show. "And to be there to support my sister was what we're there to do and I was like, 'Oh yeah, this is family.' "

The couple have walked plenty of red carpets together since, including an anniversary screening of The Innocent at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and a screening of Gyllenhaal's film Road House earlier this year.

And there may be wedding bells in the couple's future. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gyllenhaal was asked when they planned to say "I do" — and he had a playful response.

“I’m supposed to tell The Hollywood Reporter that?” the Donnie Darko actor joked, adding, “I’m not going to give you timing.”

Though, he continued, “I think we all get into that space of work, work, work, and for a long time, my career took precedence."

"But I’m at a point in my life where I realize that family really is the only thing that matters to me," Gyllenhaal added.
