After earning the distinction of having the most-watched Prime Video movie, ever, with Road House and knocking out UFC champ Conor McGregor in the process, it looks like Jake Gyllenhaal may be ready to settle down. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Donnie Darko star and perpetual internet boyfriend explained that while he's not giving anyone a timeline for a possible wedding to girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu, he is ready to shift his focus from acting to starting a family. The two have been dating since 2018 and have only made a few appearances together.

“I’m supposed to tell The Hollywood Reporter that?” he said when THR brought up his relationship and the prospect of an upcoming wedding date. “I’m not going to give you timing.”

But, he went on to say, “I think we all get into that space of work, work, work, and for a long time my career took precedence, but I’m at a point in my life where I realize that family really is the only thing that matters to me.”

While Gyllenhaal and Cadieu have kept their relationship out of the spotlight for the most part, they had their red carpet debut at a very meaningful event: the premiere of The Lost Daughter back in September 2021. The film was directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jake's older sister. They stepped out again at the premiere of Jake's movie Ambulance and the 75th-anniversary screening of The Innocent at the Cannes International Film Festival.

In an interview with Howard Stern, Gyllenhaal explained that Cadieu prefers that they keep their romance out of the headlines.

"That's part of the reason why I just adore her," he said, adding that it's "not at all the main reason but, you know, one of them."

He went on to reveal that the big moment at The Lost Daughter was never planned.

"My sister grabbed her, pulled her on that red carpet, which I think neither of us are really inclined to, you know, go on—even me," he said. "And to be there to support my sister was what we're there to do and I was like, 'Oh yeah, this is family.'"

"We are private, but I guess we are who we are," he said. "We're just living our lives. We always have. And I love that people are interested, but at the same time, it's like what's ours is ours.”
