James Austin Johnson Delivers Donald Trump Rant With A Side Of Carbonara

Saturday Night Live‘s James Austin Johnson channeled former president and felon Donald Trump in a conviction day reprise of his most famous SNL impression.

In a video posted on Instagram (see it below) Johnson, as Trump, wanders through a parking garage and rants about the Buca di Beppo Italian food chain restaurant and the high cost of pasta carbonara, seemingly avoiding the day’s hottest subject.

But not for too long. The Trump-like rambling finally finds its target.

“When you go to a Buca di Beppo, there’s so many wonderful things that are on walls and that there are on the table, frankly. If you look at the pope room, there’s a big head of the pope, and you should be able to play with it, I think, like an action figure or something. You know when you go to a collectible store and they have so much behind glass, you can’t look at any of it? The last time I checked, Buca di Beppo was not a collectible store, so we would like to be able to take the framed photographs down from the men’s room at Buca di Beppo.

“And instead what you have is a very disgraceful judge who has said that you’re not allowed to do that when in fact you should be allowed to do that because they’re fun pictures. And the carbonara’s very expensive. And I think carbonara — what is that, like four, five ingredients? Peas, aah, it’s bacon, you know, they give it a different name, an Italian name, but it’s bacon. And I think some cheese, maybe a couple eggs. And it sounds like breakfast but it’s a very yummy pasta. But they charge you so much. They’re charging people so much, it’s an absolute disgrace.”

“Trump” concludes by admitting that he has swiped the pictures of “very beautiful ladies” from the restaurant’s men’s room.

Yesterday, Trump addressed his conviction on 34 felony counts by Buca de Beppoing the trial: “This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt as a rigged trial, a disgrace. They wouldn’t give us a venue change. We were at 5 percent or 6 percent in this district, in this area. This was a rigged, disgraceful trial.”
