Jamie Foxx's Girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp 'Couldn't Be Nicer or More Perfect for Him' (Exclusive Source)

Alyce Huckstepp “has been there for him” since his medical scare

Jamie Foxx found the "perfect" match in girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp, sources tell PEOPLE.

The actor, 56, is currently "enjoying his good health" after experiencing a health emergency a year ago, a source tells PEOPLE. A big part of the Oscar winner’s well-being, according to another insider, is Huckstepp, who “couldn’t be nicer or more perfect for him.”

“Alyce is a sweetie, a great girl,” says the insider. Thanks in part to her, “Jamie is doing incredibly well.”

First spotted in public together at a Malibu restaurant and confirmed as a couple in August 2023, Foxx and Huckstepp have kept their relationship out of the spotlight. In September, an actor on Foxx’s BetMGM commercial reported that Huckstepp was visiting on set and “seemed cozy” with the star.

The source agrees that Huckstepp is a “great” and “loyal” presence in Foxx’s life who “has been there for him” in the wake of his health issues.

“Jamie still sees Alyce even though he is really busy working,” says the source. “Jamie is a social guy, he likes to be around his friends, he has to be busy doing all kinds of different things.”

The “bona fide entrepreneur” is “gung ho” about work and “likes his freedom in general,” the source tells PEOPLE. “He also has to be busy. He loves it.”

Following roles in last year's They Cloned Tyrone, God Is a Bullet, Strays and The Burial, Foxx will next appear on the big screen in Not Another Church Movie (in theaters May 10), in which he plays God. Among his many producing projects is Back in Action, the Netflix movie in which he stars opposite Cameron Diaz, expected sometime in 2024.

On March 3, Foxx appeared at the African American Film Critics Association's annual luncheon honoring Black excellence and accepted the org's Producers Award. In his acceptance speech, the actor said he would be sharing details about the medical scare that interrupted Back in Action's filming in an upcoming comedy special.

After a hiatus due to his health scare, Foxx will also return with his daughter Corinne Foxx to host season 7 of Beat Shazam!, which premieres Tuesday, May 28, at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
