Jamie Lee Curtis Asks Oscars Producers If She'll Be a Presenter This Year: 'I'd Like to Get a Dress!'

The actress appeared on the 'Today' show Tuesday, discussing her new children's book 'Just One More Sleep' with Hoda Kotb

Jamie Lee Curtis needs a heads up so she can plan her Oscars outfit.

During a chat with Hoda Kotb on the Today show Tuesday to promote her new children's book Just One More Sleep, the actress, who took home her first-ever Oscar last year, cheekily asked the awards show's producers whether she'll be presenting this year. The ceremony is on Sunday, March 10.

"Oscar people: Am I presenting?" Curtis, 65, asked the camera after Kotb, 59, posed the question to the Everything Everywhere All at Once star.

"It's usually a tradition that last year's winner presents this year — well, they haven't called yet," the actress told Kotb before addressing the camera once more.

"Would you please call? I'd like to get a dress, and I would like to arrange things," Curtis joked.

After accepting her Best Supporting Actress trophy in March 2023 from presenters Ariana DeBose and Troy Kotsur, Curtis told the audience at Los Angeles's Dolby Theatre that it "looks like I am standing up here by myself, but I'm not. I am hundreds of people."

"We just won an Oscar," she said while shouting out various crew members, Everything Everywhere directing duo the Daniels (Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan), her agents, her sister Kelly, her "beautiful husband" Christopher Guest and their two daughters, Annie and Ruby.

"To all of the people who have supported the genre movies I have made all these years, the thousands and hundreds of thousands of people, we just won an Oscar together!" Curtis continued.

"And my mother and my father were both nominated for Oscars in different categories," the Halloween star added, shouting out her parents Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis.

"I just won an Oscar," she said, bowing for the crowd as she left the stage.

Following her win, Curtis appeared virtually on the Today show, clutching her golden statuette as she relived the moment she found out she'd won from her first-ever nomination.

"I'm a little weepy," she admitted in her conversation with Kotb and co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, tearing up as she viewed a clip of her speech for the first time.

The Knives Out actress went on to say that she wanted to spotlight "friendship" with her win, as "the truth of the matter is the people I really wanted to thank and I didn't were my friends."

"My friends who wanted this for me before I ever, ever would have dreamt of wanting it. And I really do feel like 'we,' " she continued. "Because the longing for attention and appreciation for your work is universal. I don't care whatever job you do, you hope someone appreciates you."
