Jane Krakowski attended the press night performance of “Starlight Express” on June 30 in London in an outfit suited for the show’s title.
The “National Lampoon’s Vacation” actress donned a pair of sandal heels with clear accents. The style encompassed tan leather straps and one thick strap situated atop the toes made out of a clear sturdy vinyl. Additionally, the star’s footwear featured square open toes, adjustable buckle closures and wedge heels. Clear styles, sandal or otherwise, give the wearer’s legs the illusion of length and height, effectively elongating any silhouette.
The see-through style became extremely popular in the 1990s but appeared on runways as early as the 1960s. The style has remained in fashion to this day. Usually, clear shoes are made out of a mix of leather and PVC or Lucite, giving the sought-after silhouette that innovative and futuristic clear look.
Beyond Krakowski, clear heels of all kinds have been worn by the likes of Drew Barrymore, Chrissy Teigen, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Christina Ricci. The silhouette is available to purchase from a slew of brands including Vivienne Westwood, Amina Muaddi, Mango and Christian Louboutin.
Going for a dainty look, the “Fatal Attraction” star wore a two-piece white set. The summer-ready style was comprised of a cropped flared blazer and matching shorts made of a delicate white floral lace fabric. Said fabric is breathable and summery thanks to the thin construction and blooming floral motifs throughout. Rounding out her look, Krakowski wore simple gold earrings.
“Starlight Express” is a 1984 musical, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Richard Stilgoe. The show is enjoying a revival in London, enlisting the help of talents like Jeevan Braich, Kayna Montecillo and Jade Marvin, among others. The musical features a cast of roller-skating actors playing an array of trains. Performances began on June 8 in the specially designed Starlight Auditorium.
