Janet Jackson has announced an extra London date for her Together Again Tour due to overwhelming demand.

Five-time Grammy Award winner Jackson is currently in the middle of a sold-out North American tour celebrating her glittering 50-year career in the music industry.

The European leg will kick off in Paris on September 25 at Accor Arena and take in multiple stops in the UK, Germany and Belgium before concluding in Amsterdam on October 10.

The Nasty hit-maker will now take to the stage at the London O2 Arena on September 28 and 29, with special guest Wyclef Jean.

An insider told The Standard: “The setlist is incredible! Any die hard Janet fan would be pleased and of course, there are plenty of the hits everybody wants to hear too.”

That includes tracks from Jackson’s iconic fourth studio album Rhythm Nation 1814 and features some of her biggest chart-topping hits, including Miss You Much, Black Cat, and Love Will Never Do (Without You).

Those lucky enough to nab tickets might even get the chance to hear some of the new material Jackson has been teasing that she has been working on.

During an interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest in April, Jackson – who released her most-recent LP, Unbreakable, in 2015 – dished: “On the last tour that we did in the States last year we did a few different songs, but this time around were even gonna do more songs, different ones that I’ve never done live before.

“There might be a new song here or there as well.”

The news comes five years after announcing her 12th album, Black Diamond, which has yet to materialise.

Addressing this, Jackson said: “I feel bad because I mentioned this prior…

“It was supposed to come out, but we went into the pandemic and on top of that was a couple of things that I needed to straighten out in my backyard.

“So now, since we’re past all that, we’re going about putting out new music for sure.”

Tickets for the new London date go on general sale from June 14 at 9am
