Japanese rock band Radwimps to perform in Singapore on 11 May at Singapore Expo as part of new world tour

They will be playing larger venues and bringing "The way you yawn, and the outcry of Peace" world tour across Asia from April to May

SINGAPORE — Following a sold-out world tour last year, Japanese rock band Radwimps will be bringing their upcoming "The way you yawn, and the outcry of Peace" world tour to Singapore for a concert at the Singapore Expo on 11 May.

In a media release by event organiser and entertainment company SOZO, the new tour will see the band play at larger venues across Asia from April to May. It will commence on 6 April in Tokyo, and carry on through Yokohama, Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei and Bangkok, before concluding on 25 May in Seoul.

The four-piece band will also be heading to Latin America this spring, as a follow up to their 2023 sold-out North American, European, Australian and Asian tours.

The official tour art is created by renowned Japanese artist, Keiichi Tanaami, known for his vibrant and wild works exhibited in galleries around the world.

About the band

Formed in 2001, Radwimps made their debut in 2003, and have released 13 studio albums. The band have created music for record-breaking animated features films such as "Your Name" and "Weathering with You" by Japanese filmmaker and novelist, Makoto Shinkai.

They released their twelfth studio album “Forever Daze” in 2021, which was written and recorded during the pandemic. In 2022, they collaborated with highly-acclaimed film music composer, Kazuma Jinnouchi, to create the soundtrack and score for award-winning director Makoto Shinkai’s film, “Suzume”. The film was nominated at this year's Golden Globe Awards for Best Animated Feature Film.

Radwimps last performed in Singapore in August 2018 at Zepp@BigBox Singapore. They also opened for British rock band, Coldplay, in Tokyo in 2017.
