Jason Alexander Talks Possible ‘Seinfeld’ Reunion: “No One Called Me”

Jason Alexander is weighing in on the possibility of a Seinfeld reunion that Jerry Seinfeld teased last month. However, it seems that the actor who played George Costanza during the nine-year run of the sitcom is unaware of any revival actually happening.

“There is only one reason for that rumor,” Alexander said in an interview with Extra. “Apparently, at the end of some stand-up thing, [Seinfeld] went, ‘Larry [David] and I are thinking of something.’ Good for you. I don’t know anything about it… No one called me.”

He continued, “Apparently, they don’t need George and they may not need Elaine ’cause Julia [Louis-Dreyfus] and I went, ‘Do you know anything about this? I don’t know anything about this,’ and I just talked to Michael [Richards] the other day and I don’t think he knew anything about it.”

During one of his stand-up shows, Seinfeld hinted that he and co-creator Larry David were talking about a possible revival of Seinfeld.

“Something is going to happen that has to do with that ending,” the comedian teased. “It hasn’t happened yet. Just what you are thinking about, Larry and I have also been thinking about. So, you’ll see.”

Louis-Dreyfus was asked soon after about the possible reunion show, but she was unaware of anything happening.

“Yeah, I just saw [that news] last night,” she told The Guardian. “And I don’t know what the hell he’s talking about.”

The Seinfeld series finale was watched by 76 million viewers in the U.S. back in 1998. In the final episode, Seinfeld and his friends Elaine, George (Alexander) and Cosmo (Michael Richards) go on trial in Massachusetts for wisecracking at a stranger’s mugging, where they are found guilty of criminal indifference.
