Anyone with but an inkling of professional sports knowledge knows that the Chicago Cubs are in the midst of a preposterously long championship drought, dating back to 1908. As such, generations upon generations of Cubs fans have lived and passed in the years since the team last took the Major League Baseball title, leaving millions ruing a summer (and, in the rare times the team makes it to the postseason, fall) gone wrong while the calendar yet again clicks down till next year.

Next year might be here, though the Cubs certainly need some help as the team enters Saturday night’s Game 4 of the 2016 World Series facing a 2-1 series deficit against the Cleveland Indians.

Milwaukee Bucks equipment manager Mike Sergo, thanks to an assist from Bucks coach Jason Kidd, will be on hand to lend his voice during Sunday’s Game 5. Sergo, a 20-year employee of the Bucks and lifelong Cub fan, was surprised with World Series tickets by Kidd and the team on Friday:

The collection was started by Bucks basketball database manager Daniel Marks, prior to Kidd pushing in with all his chips. Here is Mike after he was given the tickets:

The Bucks do play on Sunday evening, at home against the Detroit Pistons. You, faithful reader, will also be excused if you decide to decline the chance to watch a Pistons/Bucks game in October in exchange for Game 5 of the World Series.
