Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO are 'excited and scared' about their IVF journey
Jelly Roll and his wife Bunnie XO are having IVF to start a family together.
The 39-year-old country star - who already has Bailee Ann, 16, and Noah Buddy, seven, from previous relationships - started taking his health seriously and started shedding the pounds when he realised he would need to be around for his future child.
Appearing on the 'Bussin' With the Boys' podcast, Jelly - whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord - said: "I think it was realising that I just want to feel good ... My wife and I are talking about having a baby. And it really made me realise, at almost 40, I was like, 'That means I gotta live till at least 60. I gotta see this kid into college.'
"I thought that every problem I ever had in life would be solved if I ever found any kind of success and stability.
"And then I started to get success and stability and still none of those problems are solved. My plan was never to be 60. It was to be, like, 55. But now I'm like, 'Well, I'd like to see my 60s.' You know what I mean? And that really lit it up."
His 44-year-old podcaster spouse - whom he wed in 2016 - shared the clip of the interview on her Instagram account and explained their choice to go down the IVF route and how "excited and scared" they are.
She captioned the video: "We had planned on doing this privately, but decided our IVF journey needed to be shared because we've always been so open. And w/ all odds stacked against us, it's already been hard and we have only just begun.
"J and I are so excited and scared all at the same time."
The couple - who fell for each other after meeting at one of the 'Save Me' star's concerts in 2015 - never envisaged themselves having children.
She added: "We genuinely never thought we'd want to add to our family but something changed this year and we both just want a piece of us together to add to our already perfect family with Bailee and Noah. (sic)"
