In an interview with The New York Times, Lawrence admitted that it was a film she wishes she hadn't done and made her rethink her career choices.
The American Hustle star said that Adele even warned her not to make the film: “Adele told me not to do it! She was like, ‘I feel like space movies are the new vampire movies.’ I should have listened to her.”
Lawrence has previously suggested that the film was a turning point in her career as she went on a break after filming, only returning with last year's political comedy Don't Look Up alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.
In a 2021 interview with Vanity Fair, Lawrence said about her decision to step away from acting for a while: “I was not pumping out the quality that I should have. I just think everybody had gotten sick of me. I’d gotten sick of me. It had just gotten to a point where I couldn’t do anything right. If I walked a red carpet, it was, ‘Why didn’t she run?’”
During her time away from acting, Lawrence art gallery director Cooke Maroney and gave birth to her first child – a son named Cy – in February this year.
Lawrence is currently starring in Causeway which will premiere on Apple TV+ on 4 November. The film, which also stars Brian Tyree Henry, follows a soldier struggling to adjust to life back home after suffering a brain injury while serving in Afghanistan.
Lawrence is also scheduled to star in comedy-drama No Hard Feelings which is due for release next year.
