Jenny Éclair will be returning to the world of Taskmaster in an unexpected way.

The comedian and former Loose Women panellist has signed up as the host of Taskmaster: The People's Podcast, taking over from former contestant Lou Sanders.

Jenny will be joined each week by super-fan Jack Bernhardt on Taskmaster's official podcast to break down weekly episodes and share some behind-the-scenes treats.

The duo will welcome special guests and they'll have lots to discuss with the 16th series of Taskmaster set to premiere on September 21 on Channel 4. Fans can submit questions by sending a WhatsApp message to 07810 025570 or emailing fans@taskmaster.tv.

This latest crop of celebrity contestants includes Netflix's Enola Holmes star Susan Wokoma, former Great British Bake Off presenter and comedian Sue Perkins, and pioneering stand-up comic Julian Clary.

Rounding off the competitors for Taskmaster series 16 will be Celebrity Gogglebox regular Lucy Beaumont and Bloods star Sam Campbell.

Of course, the Taskmaster himself Greg Davies will be putting these famous faces through the most bizarre and hilarious tasks with help from his sidekick Little Alex Horne.

Jenny Éclair previously featured on the 15th series of Taskmaster, where she actually won the finale episode while still losing to the series' overall winner Mae Martin.

There will be plenty of Taskmaster on the horizon for fans, as Channel 4 recently renewed the show for six more series and also commissioned an eight-part Junior Taskmaster for younger viewers.

It was subsequently announced that former Taskmaster contestants Rose Matafeo and Mike Wozniak will be taking over for Greg and Little Alex as hosts on the Junior spin-off.

Taskmaster will return on Thursday, September 21 at 9pm on Channel 4. You can catch up on classic episodes on All 4 right now.
