Jeremy Allen White is willing to experience the "Start of Something New" — but only if Zac Efron is open to showing him his filmography himself.

The Bear star, 32, revealed in an interview with Variety's Just for Variety podcast that he has never watched the High School Musical franchise — the three films that launched the career of his The Iron Claw costar Efron, 36, starting with the 2006 Disney Channel original movie.

"I haven't seen those films. I have not seen them," White explained to host Marc Malkin. "Sorry, Zac. I will. I will watch them."

While their fellow costar Stanley Simons previously shared that he "was singing some High School Musical songs" around Efron on set, the same can't be said for White. But as White explained during his recent podcast appearance, he'd be up for a watch party under one condition: "Only if Zac holds my hand through them," he joked. "That's how we'll get it done."

After Malkin recommended that a HSM watch party could be good for a charitable cause, White star agreed. "Just film Zac and I, fingers interlaced in a theater, watching the three... it's three films?"

"I'll only watch the ones that Zac is a part of," he added when he was informed of the extended HSM universe and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. "That's a part of the deal. But yeah, I'd be up for that, raising money."

Both Efron and White have been busy promoting their new film The Iron Claw, which premiered in theaters on Friday. Earlier this month, Efron joined his costars for an appearance on Today wearing an unexpected accessory: sunglasses.

At the time, Efron apologized to anchor Craig Melvin for wearing the shades indoors, explaining that it was the result of an infection. “No, I’m sorry, man," Efron told Melvin. "I feel weird being in shades."

“I just have a bit of an eye infection,” he added. “But I really wanted to be here. It’s such a good movie, and I wanted to come see you guys and tell everyone about it.”

White and Efron star in the film as brothers and wrestling superstars Kerry and Kevin Von Erich, respectively. The Iron Claw, which also features Harris Dickinson and Simons as the pair's fellow brothers, follows the story of a talented family struck by numerous tragedies.
