Jeremy Renner Reveals ‘Mayor Of Kingstown’ Has Begun Production On Season 3

Jeremy Renner is back in action on the third season of Mayor of Kingstown, he shared on social media on Wednesday. The moment is proving nerve-racking for the action star a year after a snowplow accident that nearly claimed his life.

From Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the original series is currently filming in Pittsburgh and is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions exclusively for Paramount+.

“Day one on set … nervous today,” he captioned a photo of himself in a suit. “Hope this works out that I can ACTUALLY pull this off for our production and more importantly the fans.”

The series follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.

In addition to Renner, Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi and Hamish Allan-Headley also star.

Mayor of Kingstown is one of the top-performing original dramas on the service overall and, while in season, was third only to Sheridan’s other hit series, 1923 and Tulsa King.

Taylor Sheridan, Hugh Dillon, Jeremy Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson and Regina Corrado executive produce. Erickson also serves as showrunner.
