Jessie Li surprised to win Best Actress

31 Jul - Newcomer Jessie Li has never thought about winning any award for her first film, let alone winning Best Actress at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BiFan).

According to Mingpao, speaking to the media at the celebration dinner with the cast and crew of "Port of Call", the actress admitted that it was a happy surprise for her to receive such an honour.

Jessie plays an escort in the Philip Yung movie, and even had several intimate scenes with Michael Ning and Don Li.

However, the actress had no scenes in the film with the superstar himself, Aaron Kwok, though admitted that they have ran into each other on set a few times.

When asked if she had received more offers since winning the award, Jessie replied, "We're currently in negotiations."

The based-on-a-true-story film, "Port of Call", recently became the biggest winner at the festival, winning three awards including Best Feature of Bucheon, and Best Actor Special Mention for Michael Ning.
