He had a fever and he couldn't shake it off. On a recent vlog uploaded to his YouTube channel, local singer JJ Lin revealed a behind-the-scenes look at the Chengdu portion of his world tour where he caught a cold prior to the first night of his concert.

During an interview on the vlog, the 42-year-old shared that he had a slight flu some time ago, but he thought he had recovered from it.

“But I think I must have caught a cold yesterday, then my body ached the whole night. And after I woke up, it was full-blown. I felt the chills, the symptoms of a fever. My voice became what you hear now,” he said somberly in his concert attire.

His voice sounded fine, albeit a bit hoarse, but he also pointed out that this was after taking some medicine, and he was feeling a lot better.

Though it was concerning, Lin decided to just “hit one out of the park” and not to think too much about his illness.

After his concert in the Chinese city, the vlog then showed Lin seeking medical attention. The video explained that he had taken an IV drip, but the fever persisted.

A medical professional was seen explaining to Lin that she was going to give him some glucose and his symptoms might improve after 10 minutes, though the results differ based on the individual. Lin was then recorded inhaling deeply through an oxygen mask.

He also performed the second night of the concert, but he had issues hitting his falsettos when he was practising prior to the concert.

Addressing his crowd, he told them about catching a cold and apologised for not being able to deliver his best. During the mid-concert break, he was ushered into a medical vehicle to replenish his glucose and go on his oxygen therapy.

The show went on without a hitch, but he was seen needing some help getting on his feet after he had finished. Eventually, he made it back to his hotel room and collapsed on the couch.

The video ended with him entering what seems to be a ballroom - presumably some sort of post-concert celebration - with everyone clapping for him as he marked the end of his Chengdu concerts.
