Joaquin Phoenix and Gus Van Sant Eye lined up for a biopic on cartoonist John Callahan

Joaquin Phoenix and director Gus Van Sant are could be reunited for a biopic on famed quadriplegic cartoonist John Callahan reports Variety.

The pair last worked together when Phoenix starred in Van Sant's 1995 black comedy "To Die For."

The two could finally be reunited on the new project, "Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot," which is to be based on Callahan's autobiography of the same name.

Callahan became a paralyzed in a car accident at age 21, and began drawing as a form of therapy.

His work was known for its taboo topics, leading to numerous boycotts in his hometown of Portland, although he enjoyed a successful career before his death in 2010, with his drawings published in the New Yorker, Penthouse, and Playboy.
