Joe Freshgoods Teases His Next New Balance Sneaker Collaboration

More from Footwear News

Joe Freshgoods took to Instagram Tuesday to tease his next collaboration with New Balance.

The Chicago-based designer will take on the New Balance 990v6 with two colorways for his next effort. Color-specific boxes can be seen in one of the photos shared by Joe Freshgoods, while another shows his 990v6 in all-baby blue colorway from the rear. Even though he didn’t show the second colorway, the box does match an all-red sneaker that’s been leaked previously.

Based on the lone image of the shoe shown by Joe Freshgoods, we can see that his “JFG” logo is debossed on the mustache with the words “Made for Us” appearing beneath. Those are the lone flourishes known for now, but the designer will likely reveal more about the shoe soon, including his typically in-depth backstories.

Joe Freshgoods last collaborated with New Balance on its newly revived 1000 silhouette with two colorways invoking the 2000s under the “When Things Were Pure” banner. 2023 was also a busy year for the two collaborators, as they dropped a trio of 990v4s inspired by the cult film “Belly,” a 650 loosely tied to Michael Jordan’s original Jumpman photoshoot and a capsule featuring two 610s and the Rainier boot influenced by the outdoors.

The 990v6 is the newest iteration of the iconic 990 series and arrived in 2022, 40 years after the original 990 made its debut as the first $100 running shoe on the market. Although the 990v6 is largely differentiated by cosmetic changes, it features the first use of FuelCell foam in a 990’s midsole.

Further information on the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v6 should be revealed in the coming weeks or months. Footwear News will keep you abreast of any updates.
