Joel Chan denies owing his ex-wife alimony

6 Feb – Comeback TVB actor Joel Chan has recently dismissed rumours that he had owed his ex-wife, Ponny Yeung her alimony and had accumulated a huge amount of credit card debts.

According to Phoenix, Joel said, "I have my savings, but I will not show my savings book just to prove a point. My family and close friends know me better."

Joel also stressed that he had never used any of his rich ex-girlfriend, Florinda Ho's money when they were dating and that he had paid Ponny's alimony regularly.

However, the actor looked penitent upon mentioning about his ex-wife, whom he had married back in 2008 after ten years of relationship and divorced in 2011 to be with Florinda.

"I have never owed Ponny any money. I still pay for her alimony. I was the one who let her down and this is my responsibility to her," said Joel.

When asked if Ponny had forgiven him for what happened before, Joel said that he would not hope for her to forgive him, but added that he would still like for them to remain friends.

"It's hard to say what it would be. But we will take it slowly," said Joel.
