Jordin Sparks has some extra special plans for this Father's Day – and they include Gordon Ramsay.

While speaking to PEOPLE at The Apollo Spring Benefit 2024 in New York City on Tuesday, June 11, the "No Air" singer, 34, chatted about being a mom to her 6-year-old son Dana Jr. — who goes by DJ — whom she shares with husband Dana Isaiah.

"Our son just turned 6. Things are amazing. I honestly couldn't ask for anything more," Sparks tells PEOPLE. "I mean, everything has challenges and it's teamwork and stuff, but I love my life. I'm so content with it."

With Father's Day around the corner, Sparks revealed that her family is doing something pretty unique — attending a filming of Gordon Ramsay's show Hell's Kitchen.

"We're going to Hell's Kitchen. I'm so excited," Sparks shares, confirming that they were going to the actual show, not the neighborhood in New York City. "With Gordon Ramsay. I'm so excited."

In December 2022, Sparks enjoyed making some memories with her family in the happiest place on Earth.

The singer and her husband treated their then 4-year-old son DJ to his first trip to Disneyland, sharing photos of the occasion on Instagram.

"We took DJ to DISNEYLAND for his first time!! ✨ He saw Spidey, met Anna, and rode Guardians of the Galaxy and had the biggest smile on his face—I don't think he could have had a better day," the singer wrote. "It's so wonderful seeing the world through his eyes. 🥹."

Sparks then thanked Disney Parks "for making this a memory we will remember forever!! We had a blast! 🤍✨"

That September, the former American Idol winner spoke with PEOPLE about how DJ inspired her to step outside her comfort zone and compete on Dancing With The Stars. The singer competed on the reality series with partner Brandon Armstrong and was eliminated in week 8.

"I want to do this because it scares me," she said about DWTS. "It scares me, terrified is the word. I'm terrified and excited!"

"I want to show him that you can be brave and scared at the same time," Sparks continued. "So I really am doing this for him."
