Joshua Jackson to Star in Ryan Murphy Series ‘Dr. Odyssey’ at ABC
ABC has ordered a drama series starring Joshua Jackson that hails from Ryan Murphy, Variety has confirmed.
Exact plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources say the series is believed to be a medical procedural. It is slated to premiere during the 2024-2025 broadcast season. Murphy is co-writing the series with Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken. All three also serve as executive producers, as does Jackson. Murphy executive produces via Ryan Murphy Television.

Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Nissa Diederich also executive produce. Paris Barclay is attached to direct and executive produce. 20th Television is the studio, where Murphy is under an overall deal.
This marks the latest series order for Murphy since he moved his overall deal back to 20th Television from Netflix. It was recently announced that he has set up the series “Grotesquerie” at FX, while his series “9-1-1” made its debut on ABC on March 14 after it moved over from Fox. Baitz and Baken have also collaborated with Murphy multiple times, most recently on “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans.” They are also working on “Grotesquerie” and Murphy’s legal drama at Hulu starring Kim Kardashian. He also has the “American Horror Story” franchise and the upcoming first entry of “American Sports Story,” which will focus on Aaron Hernandez.
Jackson most recently starred in the Paramount+ series version of “Fatal Attraction” and also led the first season of the Peacock series “Dr. Death.” His other TV credits include “Fringe,” “The Affair,” and “Dawson’s Creek.” He has also joined Sony’s upcoming reboot of “The Karate Kid.”
He is repped by CAA, Anonymous Content, imprint, and Hansen Jacobson.
