Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 2 spoilers follow.

Jujutsu Kaisen season two's latest episode continued to win over fans and critics after a premiere we called a 'masterclass' in our review.

The second episode, titled Hidden Inventory 2, sparked plenty of discussion online, with fans pointing out and celebrating key differences between the events shown and their original depiction in Gege Akutami's manga.

The first major departure was in the show's opening scene, entirely new for the anime, which shows Geto and Gojo making tea for Riko in the remains of her apartment.

Jujutsu Kaisen's creative staff hinted earlier this year that season two would feature moments not previously seen in the original book.

Eagle-eyed Jujutsu Kaisen fans were also quick to spot a seemingly minor change in the way Gojo interacted with Riko when evacuating her from school.

Viewers noticed that, unlike in the manga, Gojo uses his force attraction powers to essentially levitate Riko alongside him - a power he explains in the following scene.

"I LOVE that MAPPA, instead having Gojo grab Riko like in the manga, has him carry her using force attraction on his palm."

Jujutsu Kaisen fan and Twitter user @ShadzMangaOnly pointed out some specific changes made in the adaptation during a fight between Geto and a curse user attempting to claim Riko's bounty.

Fans were also very excited to see another iconic Jujutsu Kaisen scene, in which Gojo poses for a room full of swooning teenagers, translated to animation.

And animation studio MAPPA was praised for including a small tender moment between Gojo and Geto.

Given that, in the Jujutsu Kaisen's present-day story, the two characters are sworn enemies, "cutie patootie" behaviour like the above doesn't seem like it'll last forever.

Jujutsu Kaisen season two is available on Crunchyroll, with new episodes released every Thursday.
