Julianne Hough & Utkarsh Ambudkar To Host Tony Awards Pre-Show On Pluto TV

Julianne Hough and Utkarsh Ambudkar will host The Tony Awards: Act One, the live pre-show airing on Pluto TV that will include exclusive content and the presentation of a first round of awards.

Both Hough, who won a 2015 Emmy for her choreography on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, and Ambudkar, who stars on CBS’ Ghosts, have Broadway experience. Hough appeared in the comedy POTUS, and Ambudkar made his Broadway debut in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s improvisational hip-hop show Freestyle Love Supreme.

The Tony Awards: Act One airs for free on the Pluto TV streaming service Sunday, June 16, running from 6:30-8 pm ET/3:30-5 pm PT. The 77th Annual Tony Awards immediately follow, with host Ariana DeBose live from the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. The Tonys air from 8-11 pm, LIVE ET/5-8 pm, LIVE PT on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.

The Tony Awards are presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing and produced in collaboration with Tony Award Productions and White Cherry Entertainment. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss are showrunners and executive producers for White Cherry Entertainment, and Weiss will serve as director. Jack Sussman is also an executive producer.
