Jurassic Park's new horror video game, Jurassic Park: Survival, has released its first action-packed trailer.

The game, which is set in the same world as the iconic action-adventure movie franchise, was originally intended to be released in 2001. Now, over 20 years later, the game is finally coming to Xbox and PlayStation.

Jurassic Park: Survival's first trailer debuted at The Game Awards 2023 on December 8, and can be watched above.

Unsurprisingly, given its name, the single-player game will be a survival quest, with players fighting to make their way off a deserted island filled with deadly, long extinct dinosaurs.

"I own an island off the coast of Costa Rica," an unknown character announces at the start of the trailer. "Really spectacular, spared no expense. This place, I wanted to show them something that wasn't an illusion. Something that was real."

Of course, overly-hubristic scientists with delusions of grandeur never tend to fare that well in the Jurassic franchise, and here, InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi has been stranded on the iconic Isla Nublar, a day after the events of the original 1993 film.

The game features action and stealth gameplay, and the trailer even gives a sneak peek at a recreation of Jurassic Park's iconic kitchen stalking scene – angry raptor and all.

The raptor isn't the only scaly baddie we see in the trailer. Before a brief glimpse of some first person action, we see Dr. Maya stumble across a giant footprint, before she turns, flare in hand, to come face to face with its terrifying owner.

Jurassic Park: Survival is due for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC, although its release date has not yet been confirmed.
