The second season of And Just Like That..., the Sex and the City reboot series, wraps up this week. The eleven-episode sophomore season featured both the return of John Corbett's Aidan, and the finale will include a brief cameo by Kim Cattrall as Samantha. Fans are already wondering: Is this the last we're going to see of Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda?

Ahead of the finale, HBO announced that Sarah Jessica Parker and co. will in fact return for a third season of And Just Like That... "As we approach the highly anticipated season finale on Thursday, we raise our cosmos to Michael Patrick King and his magnificent team of writers, producers, cast and crew who continue to charm us, 25 years later, with dynamic friendships and engaging stories. We cannot wait for audiences to see where season three will take our favorite New Yorkers," Sarah Aubrey, head of original content for Max, said in a statement.

"We are thrilled to spend more time in the ‘Sex And The City’ universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors," executive producer and showrunner Michael Patrick King said in a statement, per Variety. "'And Just Like That…' here comes season three."

The OG Sex and the City premiered 25 years ago, and in the decades since, there have been two films plus the currently airing reboot series. "If we had tried to do Sex and the City now without any of the changes we made, it wouldn't have been current in my mind. It wouldn't have been anything to argue about. There wouldn't have been a change to debate," King said.

He adds, "When Sex and the City was good, we showed four individuals all experiencing different versions of the same question, which is, how do you fulfill yourself? That's what we're doing now with even more characters."

In addition to Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), new characters include Seema (Sarita Choudhury), Che (Sara Ramirez), Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker), and Nya (Karen Pittman). We would likely see all of them reprise their roles in a season three.

We'll update this as soon as more news comes out about season 3.
