Kate Middleton has promoted her stylist, Natasha Archer, into a new royal role.
According to her LinkedIn, Archer is now the Senior Private Executive Assistant to the Prince and Princess of Wales, after working as a Personal Assistant since 2010. She writes the job description is "clothing; diary; projects."
Per the Daily Mail, "Ms Archer's promotion follows reports that she personally collected The Princess of Wales from the London Clinic after her abdominal operation earlier this year. After that, the mother of two was brought into the innermost circle of select friends and family members who have been supporting the Princess through her private cancer battle."
A source told the tabloid, "Natasha deserves this boost—she's unfailingly discreet and loyal to Kate. The salary boost will be welcome too. This appointment means we can expect to see Natasha by Kate's side for years to come. It seems to be Kate's way of thanking her for her loyalty."
Archer is married to royal photographer Chris Jackson, and she has worked for the royal family since 2007—before the Waleses, she worked for the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
The news of her promotion comes amid Kate's health battle—in January, she had abdominal surgery, and in March, she announced she had been diagnosed with cancer and would be undergoing "preventative chemotherapy."
In her video, Kate said, "We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery." There's no set timeline for her return to royal work, but when she does, Archer will be by her side.
