Kate Middleton Takes New Photo of Prince William and Kids at the Beach for Father’s Day: 'We Love You, Papa'
The royal family photo was taken by Kate Middleton and shared on social media for Father's Day on June 16
Prince William has appeared in a touching new family photo to celebrate Father's Day.
On Sunday, June 16, a photograph posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales' social media featured a heartfelt Father’s Day message to William, 41, along with a photo of him with his children, which had been shot by his wife Kate Middleton.
“We love you, Papa. Happy Father’s Day 💕 G, C & L,” the caption of the post read, including a sign-off with the initials of Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, and a credit for the Princess of Wales, 42, as the image's photographer.
In the photograph, William appears with his back to the camera as he embraces his sons and daughter as the family stands on a sand dune overlooking a beach.
Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June in both the U.S. and U.K. and earlier in the day, the Prince of Wales posted a throwback image of himself as a child to celebrate his own father, King Charles, on the special day.
The sweet image showed him playing in the garden with the King, 75, as he wrote, “Happy Father’s Day, Pa. W.”
The latest photo shot by Princess Kate of Prince William and their children comes a day after the family attended the Trooping the Colour in celebration of King Charles’ birthday in London at Buckingham Palace.
The occasion marked Princess Kate’s first public appearance since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March and her first attendance at a public event with the royal family since Christmas.
Ahead of appearing at the parade on Friday, June 14, Kate confirmed that she would be attending as she shared an update on her cancer treatment in a post on Instagram.
Kate also said she has been "blown away" by the support she has received since revealing her diagnosis.
"It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times," she said.
The photo comes three months after Kate's Mother's Day photo, featuring her with her children, was recalled by several international news agencies due to concerns over potential manipulation. The Princess of Wales apologized for "any confusion" caused by the image.
