Kate Middleton Took Off Her Engagement Ring on Recent Royal Outing—But for a Very Good Reason

Royal fans couldn’t get enough of Kate Middleton’s stylish ensemble worn on her most recent visit to Merseyside in Northwest England. But some quickly noticed that one particular accessory was missing: her engagement ring.

This week, Princess Catherine and her husband, Prince William, attended the grand opening of The Royal Liverpool University Hospital, where they got a chance to talk with healthcare workers and learned about the mental health resources offered at the facility.

The recent outing marks the first public appearence the royal couple made since Prince Harry released his new tell-all memoir, Spare.

According to Hello! Magazine, Catherine did not wear her engagement and eternity rings while she was walking around in the hospital. But fear not, royal admirers—it’s not what you think. As it turns out, she had to remove her rings as a health and safety precaution. She could clearly be seen wearing them while outside the hospital posing for photos.

This is not the first time Princess Catherine has removed her rings for a royal event. Hello! also revealed that the princess removed both of her rings during a trip to the Evelina London Children's Hospital back in 2020. And two years prior, she did the same thing while paying a visit to the Great Ormond Street Hospital.
