Katie Price has revealed that she attempted suicide in a new documentary about trauma.
The 44-year-old reality star shares she tried to take her own life after being raped at gunpoint in a carjacking in South Africa in a new Channel 4 documentary Katie Price: Trauma And Me, which airs on Thursday, 8 September.
Price said in a voiceover for the show: "After years of neglect, I suffered a mental breakdown in 2018. I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
"I hit severe depression a couple of years ago, depression on top of PTSD, I was suicidal, didn't want to be here. I tried to kill myself."
But having survived the attempt the mother-of-five revealed: "All I saw was the kids faces, I didn't want that to ever happen again.
"Mental health is cruel, it's horrible when you go through stuff. There's still hurdles to get over."
Afterwards she checked into rehabilitation clinic The Priory. During the show Price looks at a mind map she wrote during her treatment in which she had written she did not want to be alive.
Price said: "That's how bad I was and no one knew how bad I was."

The model said she was diagnosed with PTSD after being raped at gunpoint in South Africa.
She said: "The experience when I was filming with ITV in South Africa we had no security, if we had security they would have helped when the six guys jumped out, held me at gunpoint and raped me."
Price added: "I thought we were all going to die.
"I've had horrific relationship with guys. All the stuff that has happened to me as a kid until now. I got raped in a park when I was seven, it goes back from then."
Price is mother to 20-year-old son Harvey, whose father is footballer Dwight Yorke and she shares Junior, 17, and Princess, 15, with first husband Peter Andre. She also shares nine-year-old son Jett and eight-year-old Bunny with third ex-husband Kieran Hayler.
In December 2021 she pled guilty to driving without a licence following a drink-drive crash in the early hours of the morning.
She was given a four month suspended sentence and ordered to complete 20 hours of rehab and 100 hours of community service.
Price — who has previously spoken about her treatment for cocaine addiction — also returned to rehab at the beginning of 2020.
She began dating Carl Woods in June 2020 and in April 2021 they announced they were engaged to be married – her seventh engagement.
In August that year, Essex Police confirmed that an unnamed man had been arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and controlling behaviour following an alleged attack on Price in the early hours.
