Katrina Halili suffers setback in case vs. Hayden Kho

Will Katrina Halili elevate her case against Hayden Kho to the Supreme Court?

The Court of Appeals junked on Thursday the actress' appeal to overturn a lower court decision dismissing a criminal case she filed against Hayden Kho for uploading a sex video of Kho and Halili without the latter knowing about.

Halili's lawyer Raymund Palad told reporters that the actress will file a motion for reconsideration before the Supreme Court for the criminal case. Palad said that Halili also has the option to file a separate civil case against Kho for moral damages.

Halili, however, has chosen to remain mum on the case. She is pregnant with singer Kris Lawrence's child and indicated that she is focusing to have a safe delivery in September, Palad said.

This came after Halili's earlier legal victory at the CA, when the Appellate Court affirmed a 2009 Professional Regulation Commission decision to strip Kho of his medical license.

The PRC had booted Kho for immorality and dishonorable and/or unethical conduct over the sex videos with Halili, which Kho took secretly.

The scandal elicited a Senate investigation with Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla publicly castigating Kho for his actions, saying he was a "pervert of the highest kind."

Kho and his longtime partner and supporter Dr. Vicki Belo went their separate ways early this year. Belo had been in Kho's side throughout the controversy.
