Kelly Ripa shared a funny interaction between her and Chris Rock.

On the Wednesday, July 10 episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, the co-hosts chatted about friends whose kids share the same name.

"Can you imagine if one of our friends said, ‘You can’t name that kid Lola because I’m going to name the kid Lola?" Mark Consuelos, 53, asks his wife Ripa, 53, mentioning the couple's second child Lola, 23.

"No but remember, there’s a very funny story," the mom of three replies, bringing up an old story about Rock. "Chris Rock called me when he was expecting his first daughter — I had just had Lola — and he said, ‘Listen, Malaak and I are thinking of naming the baby Lola and we just want to check with you to see if that’s okay,’" she recalls.

She continues, "And I was like, ‘First of all, I don’t own the name Lola, I didn’t trademark it. And second of all, we can all agree Lola Rock is an amazing name.’ Like, ‘Do you mind if I change Lola’s last name to Rock?’"

"That was very polite of him," Consuelos adds.

Ripa then shared that as nice as Rock's gesture was, she found it unnecessary. "Yeah, but it never occurred to me. I wouldn’t even… I’m not the only Kelly, you’re not the only Mark."

In addition to Lola, the couple shares sons Michael, 27, and Joaquin, 21.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos

Ripa and Consuelos recently talked candidly about how involved they should be in their children's dating lives.

Back in June, Ripa explained that whether you like or dislike who your child is with, it’s difficult to push them in the right direction.“You don’t want to say too much, 'cause you know how that goes. So you have to act different,” she said.

Consuelos agreed, saying “If you have comments, you’ll push them towards that person.”

The couple accepts that the best thing they can do is to “say nothing” when it comes to who their kids are dating,

“Yeah if you don’t like somebody your child is with and you express that, they dig in. But if you like them too much then it’s like, ‘Hmm… why does my mom like them.’ So we say nothing,” Ripa shared.
