Kelly Rowland Praises Jay-Z After Calling Out Grammys For Beyoncé Snubs: “His Words Ring So Loud To Me”
Kelly Rowland is praising Jay-Z after the media mogul’s Grammys speech, in which he called out the organization for not getting it right.
“Shawn Carter is one of the greatest men I know and his words ring so loud to me,” Rowland told Entertainment Tonight during the Bob Marley: One Love movie premiere. “I couldn’t be more proud of him.”

The Destiny’s Child alum continued, “I’m just really happy for a lot of things that he said. I think that he made a lot of artists feel very seen and very heard in those minutes that he took on stage.”
On Sunday night, the rapper was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award and when he took the stage with his daughter Blue Ivy, he took some shots at the Recording Academy.
“I’m just saying we just want you to get it right,” Jay-Z said after mentioning he boycotted the ceremony after the Grammys didn’t nominate DMX in 1998 despite dropping two albums that landed at the top of the music charts. “We love y’all. We want y’all to get it right — at least get it close to right.”
Jay-Z then made reference to his wife Beyoncé, who is the most-award artist of all-time but has never taken the Album of the Year trophy.
“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys… Never won Album of the Year. That doesn’t work,” he said.
He continued, “Some of you gonna go home tonight and feel like you’ve been robbed. Some of you may get robbed. Some of you don’t belong in a category. Now, when I get nervous, I tell the truth.”
