Kelsey Anderson Calls Her Living with 'Bachelor' Joey Graziadei and 2 Roommates ‘a “New Girl” Situation’

"He was just living with his sister, so I was like, 'You can move in with me,' " said Anderson

Kelsey Anderson's happily ever after with Joey Graziadei includes a sticky living situation.

While appearing on the Monday, June 10, episode of Jason Tartick's Trading Secrets podcast, the newly engaged couple opened up about how their life changed after finding love on The Bachelor.

"I was still working, and so I was like, you know, I gotta go back to my, like, I'm not quitting my job,' " Anderson explained. "He was just living with his sister, so I was like, 'You can move in with me.' I have a very big room, and my roommates were all in. They're like, 'We can't wait to get to know Joey,' and it's kinda like a New Girl situation."

In the beloved FOX sitcom that aired for seven seasons from 2011 to 2018, Zooey Deschanel played a wacky elementary school teacher who moves in with three men in Los Angeles, portrayed by Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, and Damon Wayans Jr.

Graziadei couldn't help but agree with his soon-to-be wife's explanation.

"Yeah. I'm on a, like, comedy sketch right now. I feel like I'm full-on in a New Girl situation. There's three girls and one Joey. I'm just, like, sitting there in the middle of the hallway," he said.

After Anderson noted that it also feels like living in a real-life version of Friends, Graziadei opened up about why it is "a great atmosphere to walk into" after previously living with his sister.

"I do think people forget that in my situation, like, moving to my sisters was strategic. Like, I was living in Hawaii. There's no way I could be living there with the amount that I was gonna be doing with the press going from New York to LA," he said. "So I was like, 'I need to either go find a new place, or I have to get into a place that's gonna let me be able to travel pretty easily on the mainland.' "

Graziadei called their living arrangement a "no-brainer."

"It would have been wrong of me to be like, we need to get you out of what your life was because she dropped her whole life to be a part of this. And I knew that regardless of what was going to happen, my life was going to have to change and go somewhere else," he said.

Anderson also noted that the two have not been home as much during their summer travels.

"It's like that's our base. It's like our closet right now because we've been traveling so much. Like, that's just, like, where our clothes are," she said. "We unpack and repack to go to the next place right now."
