Kendall Toole is saying goodbye to her Peloton family.

On June 13, the 31-year-old announced in a Reel on Instagram that she is leaving the company after nearly five years. "It’s with great consideration and many, many, many hours of reflection, but I’m choosing to close my chapter at Peloton," wrote Toole, who leads cycling, boxing and strength workouts on the platform.

She went on to thank the company for "this incredible, life-changing opportunity," as well as her followers for "letting me into your homes, into your hearts, and in many times — I hope — into the shadowy parts of your mind where sometimes things can get a little tough."

And though she would no longer be at Peloton, Tool said this wasn't the end. "Before we get too emotional, I don’t want you to think I’m saying goodbye. I’m not, this is just a shift," Toole said. "I’ll be continuing to check in on social media and far beyond. This is more of a ‘I’ll see you on the next chapter’ kind of an energy."

"Stay tuned for what’s next and I will see you in the next adventure," she said. "Love you."

In her thank yous, Tool said she was "eternally grateful and moved" by the support her followers have showed her, and their "willingness for us all to be vulnerable."

"To the community who have become my friend and family and have stayed in the fight with me, I cannot thank you enough," she said. "It’s been an absolute honor, especially to every single one of you Knockouts and NKO crew members for all of the fun and craziness and joy."

"Thank you or riding with me, for sweating with me, for crying with me, for growing and evolving with me and every single way we’ve committed to showing up for ourselves so we can show up for those around us in our life," Tool added. "And that kind of commitment to ourselves is truly spectacular."

She ended her video with a motivational line from her dad, saying: "‘They can knock you down but they can NEVVER knock you out.' "

Toole first teased the move a few weeks ago on June 3 with an Instagram post: "Shedding a skin and removing an armour that no longer serves; you’re raw for a while. Tender for a time. Waiting til the wind of all that change doesn’t burn, eyes to stop watering at all the turns. Exhausted. Relentless," she wrote.

"Don’t ever forget: tender is transformed," she added. "A new thing. The next level. Uncharted waters & uninked pages. Wholeheartedly, unapologetically, enthusiastically, brand new. 61324."

The beloved instructor first joined the company in September 2019.

At the time, she shared her excitement for the gig on Instagram writing, “I knew the day @codyrigsby called and said “Hey boo, you got the job” my life was about to change...but I never knew just how beautiful it was about to become.”

“This INCREDIBLE community (scratch that) FAMILY @onepeloton has not only welcomed me with open arms but accepted and embraced this chatty little punching rocker-chick from California with open minds and hearts. 🙏🏼” she said. “I CANNOT WAIT TO GROW TOGETHER, to discover more of our strength together, to take that #maskoff and be proud of our vulnerabilities together, and to sweat all as one team and ONE PELOTON.”

In addition to working as an instructor, Toole has often used her classes and social media platform to discuss the importance of mental health care — even leading an emotional Mental Health Awareness-month ride on Peloton.

Back in 2021, she spoke to PEOPLE about sharing her own mental health struggles during her time with the company.

"It's been a beautiful experience, to get to open up. When you're given a platform and that incredible opportunity, to not be honest when I'm asking people to show up as their best self, it felt counterintuitive," Toole said at the time. "Being able to speak on mental health and bring it out of the shadows and help end the stigma has been key."

The fitness mogul also emphasized the importance of taking time for yourself, which Toole said is the "coolest thing" to be a part of when people choose to take a Peloton class in that moment.

"Hearing that people are using the bike and using movement and physical activity to honor themselves is actually really transformative," she shared. "And I'm just happy to be a part of that process."
