Kenneth Ma unaffected by cancelled event

12 Jul – Kenneth Ma recently stated that he is not at all affected by TVB's decision to cancel its HKDSE event in Tuen Mun, which he was originally scheduled to make an appearance.

As reported on Mingpao, the "Big White Duel" star, who was one of the actors who were supposed to attend the event to cheer on students who were to receive the result of their Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education examination, stated that he will respect the decision made by TVB.

"I will just express my encouragement to the students in a different way," he said.

Asked if there was any loss in compensation, Kenneth said that his cooperation with TVB is a long-term effort, and thus he will not be thinking about such a thing.

"The company did this for security reasons. It should not be a dangerous event. We don't want anybody to be hurt," he said.

Kenneth also added that he was able to watch his drama with the family because of the cancellation.

TVB recently cancelled two of its live events in the wake of anti-extradition protesters call to boycott the company and its artistes, following allegations that TVB has been biased in its news coverage of the said protest.
