Students and faculty were evacuated from a Kentucky high school after a “strong gas odor” was reported on Tuesday morning, per a statement from Oldham County Police.

The resource officer at Oldham County High School in Buckner, Ky. reported a strong gas odor inside the building around 11 a.m. Oldham police, fire department and emergency medical services arrived on site to assist with evacuating students and staff.

It was determined that there was no gas leak and the odor was from a liquid substance that allegedly a 17-year-old female student poured inside two trash cans.

The OCPD reported that the liquid was “a non-toxic concentrated liquid product commonly advertised online for use in pranks.” The Oldham County High School referred to it as “fart spray,” reports The Oldham Era and local media outlet WAVE.

Students and staff returned to class once the OCFD cleared the odor.

However, it was reported that seven students were evaluated for discomfort, but did not require medical care. “No further information is currently available regarding other additional illness or medical conditions resulting from the incident,” said the OCPD.
