Kevin Bacon and Glenn Howerton are joining the cast of the upcoming Netflix limited series “Sirens,” Variety has learned.

The pair join previously announced leads Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock, and Meghann Fahy in the dark comedy. Variety exclusively reported in February that the series was coming to Netflix. It hails from “Maid” creator Molly Smith Metzler and is based on her play “Elemeno Pea.”

The series is told over the course of a weekend at a lavish beach estate. Per the official logline, “Devon (Fahy) thinks her sister Simone (Alcock) has a really creepy relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell (Moore). Michaela’s cult-ish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention. When Devon tracks her sister down to say WTF, she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be.”

Bacon will play Peter Kell who is said to come “from an old money family and is the highest-status person in every room he enters. He’s an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the occasional joint.”

Howerton will appear as Ethan Corbin II, “a dear friend of the Kells and lifelong bachelor who lives next door. He’s a regular at the yacht club and he’s rapidly burning through his trust fund,” per the character description.

Bacon is also set to star in the upcoming Amazon series “The Bondsman” from Blumhouse TV, while he previously played the title role in the Amazon comedy series “I Love Dick,” which aired for one season and earned him a Golden Globe nomination. Bacon’s other television roles include the Showtime series “City on a Hill” and “The Following” at Fox. He is best known for his film roles, such as his iconic performance in the film “Footloose,” as well as “Hollow Man,” “Mystic River,” “Apollo 13,” “Tremors,” “A Few Good Men” and many more.

He is repped by WME, MGMT Entertainment, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.

Howerton is best known for his role as Dennis Reynolds in the FXX comedy series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” which he also co-developed with co-star Rob McElhenney. With the premiere of its 15th season in 2021, it became the longest-running live-action American sitcom of all time. Howerton’s other TV roles include “The Mindy Project,” “A.P. Bio,” and “That 80’s Show,” as well as films like “BlackBerry” and “The Strangers.”

Howerton is repped by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Sloane Offer.

“Sirens” is the first project under Metzler’s multi-year overall deal with Netflix, which she signed following the breakout success of “Maid.” She serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer on “Sirens” under her Quiet Coyote banner. Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, and Margot Robbie also executive produce for LuckyChap. Nicole Kassell will direct the first two episodes and also serve as executive producer.
