Kevin Jonas reveals skin cancer diagnosis as he undergoes surgery

Kevin Jonas has undergone surgery to remove skin cancer from his face.

The Jonas Brothers star, 36, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a health update with fans along with a clip filmed before and after going under the knife.

“So today I am getting a basal-cell carcinoma removed from my head,” he told his 4.9million followers.

The Burnin’ Up hitmaker then panned the camera to show a mole on his forehead while he was lying down.

“Yes, that is an actual little skin cancer guy that has started to grow,” he continued. “And now I have to get surgery to remove it, so here we go.”

After the procedure, Jonas pulled back a bandage to check the results but concealed the incision with an emoji with a shocked, wide-eyed expression.

He then made a similar expression himself after taking a peek.

The clip then cut to Jonas sitting in his car as he prepared to drive home following the quick and easy procedure.

“Alright, I'm done,” he said. “Now it's time to heal. Heading home.”

He then urged anyone watching to remember to seek medical help if they had any concerns themselves.

“Make sure to get those moles checked, people,” the Camp Rock star added.

Re-enforcing this message, he captioned the post: “Friendly reminder to get your moles checked,” followed by a praying hands emoji.

His followers were quick to offer their support and well-wishes in the comments section.

“So happy you had this checked!” wrote one person.

“Glad you caught it!” agreed another, adding: “Hopefully a speedy recovery!”

While a third remarked: “Praying for you!!! Glad you are ok.”
