Kiernan Shipka, Kiefer Sutherland & Krysten Ritter To Star In ’80s-Set Revenge Thriller ‘Stone Cold Fox’; Joe Roth Aboard As Exec Producer

EXCLUSIVE: Kiernan Shipka (Totally Killer), who is about to have a big year with Twisters and Red One upcoming, will star with Kiefer Sutherland (24) and Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) in action-thriller Stone Cold Fox.

In the ’80s-set revenge story, the defiant Fox (Shipka) breaks out of an abusive commune in search of her family, but when the queenpin (Ritter) kidnaps her little sister and sends a crooked cop (Sutherland) after her, Fox has no choice but to infiltrate the very place she escaped.

Also starring are Lorenza Izzo (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Jamie Chung (Lovecraft Country) and Karen Fukuhara (The Boys). Filming is due to begin this summer.

Written by Sophie Tabet and Julia Roth, the project will mark Tabet’s directorial debut. Verve Ventures and the UTA Independent Film Group are representing worldwide distribution rights.

The pic will be produced by Bee-Hive’s Stephen Braun (Sacramento), The Wonder Company’s Eric B. Fleischman and Chris Abernathy (Sacramento), Jonathan Craven (The Hills Have Eyes 2) and Tabet and Roth. Studio vet Joe Roth (Anyone But You) will serve as executive producer.

Franco-Lebanese-American Tabet has previously shot content for brands including Alfa Romeo, Amazon Prime and Stella Artois.

“Stone Cold Fox is a love letter to the American action films of the 80’s, but one that gives women, immigrants and queer characters seats at the table,” the filmmaker said. “I’m beyond excited to make this ass-kicking, high-octane film about the complexities of non-belonging and making your own family as a means of survival.”

Shipka is repped by WME, Anonymous Content, and Sloane, Offer. Sutherland is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360 and Lichter Grossman. Ritter is repped by CAA, Industry Entertainment, Principal LA and Brecheen Feldman. Bee-Hive is repped by Verve Talent & Literary Agency.
