Kim Hyun-joong elected ambassador

13 Mar – It was reported that singer-actor Kim Hyun-joong was recently selected as the honorary ambassador for UN's Korean Campaign on Contributions to Social Welfare.

Allkpop reported that on 9 March, the inauguration ceremony for the event took place at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul where Kim Hyun-joong met with the Asian Campaign representative, Kim Jung-hoon, as well as the interim leader of the ruling Saenuri Party, Park Geun-hye.

Kim Hyun-joong has seen a high rise in popularity ever since his debut with SS501 and more so after appearing in dramas like "Boys Over Flowers" and "Playful Kiss".

The star also launched a successful solo album last year with another mini-album in the second half of the year.
