Kim Kardashian doesn't even have to look in her own backyard for inspiration for her product lines — it's inside her house.

The SKKN BY KIM founder opened up about how her own family home — a pristine, all-white estate in Hidden Hills, Calif. — is the jumping off point for her creations, including her 5-piece home accessory collection and future creations she says, "I can’t wait to share."

"My house is my sanctuary and when designing it, I wanted to create a calming place to come home to after a busy day of work," Kardashian tells PEOPLE ahead of her latest SKKN BY KIM MAKEUP launch. "The minimalist design keeps things clean and uncluttered, which allows me to truly decompress and get away from the chaos."

"It's like hitting the pause button," she adds. "When everything is so zen, I can really recharge and let my creativity flow."

Most importantly, she shares, "it creates a sense of peace that allows me to truly be present with my kids. After all, at the end of the day, that's what matters most."

The bedrooms of her four children — North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5 — are the only spaces in the house that get to break that rule. "I let them each design their own rooms. They can go wild with whatever colors they want," she says.

Kardashian's home's otherwise restrained style has captured fans' attention — as well as headlines and magazine covers — and been compared to everything from a monastery to a museum. But she she says the spare allows her creativity to flow.

"I love concrete and gray tones, it feels really zen to me," Kardashian says. "When I was designing the packaging for my SKKN skincare line, I wanted it to look really good in my own home and for the home accessories, I wanted to make sure they really complimented the skincare line."

She's often shown off the accessories line, which includes a vanity tray, round container, canister, tissue box and waste basket (ranging from $65 to $129), in her own one-of-a-kind primary bathroom.

"I especially love how the round container and canister are perfect for storing cotton pads, q-tips or for any small items on bathroom countertops or around the home — they help keep mine clutter-free," she shares.

And while she won't confirm or deny more SKKN Home items to come, the businesswoman teases, "You’ll have to wait and see! We have a lot of exciting things in the works."
