8 Sep - Hong Kong-based actress and well-known Jing Girl, Kimmy Tong, was revealed to have left Wong Jing's company to pursue her career in mainland China.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the news was confirmed by the Hong Kong director himself recently, who revealed that "The Last Tycoon" actress has decided not to renew her five-year contract with his studio.
"Actually she left the company two months earlier than stipulated. Her contract would have been automatically renewed for two years, but it doesn't matter now," said Wong.
Although the director claimed that he was unaffected by her departure, Wong sounded annoyed as he expressed, "She has her own plans. She wants to focus on her Beijing career. Everybody has their own plans. I have other artistes who are worth developing."
He was also full of praises for another one of his Jing Girls, Michelle Hu, who also stars in his upcoming third instalment of "From Vegas to Macau".
"She gave an outstanding performance," said Wong. "Her performance was even more mature than before."
