Kitty Zhang's husband denies debt rumours

21 Sep - Businessman Yuan Bayuan, husband to Chinese actress Kitty Zhang, has dismissed rumours that he is currently millions in debt.

As reported on Apple Daily, it was alleged that Yuan owed the employees of his fashion business about RMB 4 million in wages, but decided to gamble it away instead of paying his workers.

It was also reported that Yuan chalked up a gambling debt of approximately SGD 2 million in Singapore, which he has yet to pay.

To that, Yuan recently released a statement clarifying the issue, saying that there has been no gambling debt whatsoever and that there is no truth to the previous reports about him.

He also stressed that he has the right to take legal action against his accusers.

Kitty surprised many last year after she married Yuan after only 70 days of dating. Prior to their marriage, "The Mermaid" actress was married to director Wang Quan'an, which ended in divorce after he was arrested for soliciting prostitutes.
