Kristin Juszczyk, Who Made Taylor Swift's Viral Chiefs Jacket, Shows Off Injured Fingers from Sewing Ahead of Super Bowl
"The scars on my finger tips from stabbing myself by accident with a needle are getting craaaaazy," the wife of 49ers player Kyle Juszczyk wrote on Instagram
Kristin Juszczyk's game day outfits may be picture-perfect by the time they make it to the field, but behind the scenes, the designer is showing that a lot of blood, sweat and tears goes into their construction.
On Friday, the wife of 49ers player Kyle Juszczyk, 32, posted a photo to Instagram proving that, due to the huge demand for her designs since hand-making Taylor Swift’s Kansas City Chiefs jacket for her boyfriend Travis Kelce's Jan. 13 game, her fingers are in rough shape due to all the sewing she's been doing.
"The scars on my finger tips from stabbing myself my accident with a needle are getting craaaaazy," Kristin, 29, captioned a photo of her injured fingers.
Kristin, who met Kyle a decade ago when they were both living in Baltimore, Maryland and married him in 2019, has become the breakout designer of the 2024 NFL playoff season. Other than Swift, this season she's also designed looks for Brittany Mahomes, 28, Olivia Culpo, 31, Taylor Lautner, 31, Simone Biles, 26, and of course, herself.
On Sunday, Kristin shared a video of her creating her NFC Championship jacket, which shared similarities with the matching red puffers she designed for Swift and Brittany Mahomes — with one fun hidden detail.
Just after the San Francisco 49ers secured a spot in the Super Bowl by defeating the Detroit Lions 34 to 31, Kristin turned the sleeves of her jacket inside out to reveal the words "Super Bowl Bound."
The week after the game, Sportico reported that Kristen was granted a license to use the NFL’s logos on her clothing, including men's and women's apparel. However, the football organization did not disclose any other details of the partnership, including the financials of the deal.
Though Kristin's success has skyrocketed in recent weeks, Jan.17, Kyle told reporters, including The Athletic, that she's always worked incredibly hard behind the scenes, and it's been a “pure joy” to watch her brand take off.
After Swift, Biles, and Mahomes donned her NFL-inspired outfits this season, the 49ers fullback flooded social media with praise for his wife’s brand. Kyle responded to a handful of posts on X about Kristin’s work — which often includes her reworking t-shirts and jerseys into custom game day looks — crediting her in the comments and making sure she got recognition.
Later, he shared with reporters why it was so important to him that he shine a spotlight on his wife's work.
“She’s been grinding for years now and working so hard. I’m so happy to see her get her stuff out there, everybody sees it and recognizes it was hers,” Kyle said in a video shared by reporter David Lombardi, adding that it might Kristin 20 hours to create one jacket. “There’s times I’m waking up 3 or 4 in the morning and she’s not in bed, she’s downstairs working, I’m so proud of her. I think she’s extremely talented, and the things she’s putting out there are one of a kind.”
