PW Insider reports that Evans wasn't released by WWE, rather her deal with the company expired.

She signed with WWE in 2016, after serving in the US Marines for five years. Speaking to Digital Spy in 2019, Evans revealed how she became interested in pro wrestling while in the Marines.

"A Staff Sergeant got me interested in Sports Entertainment," she said. "One thing led to another and I went to a show and ended up getting a tryout with WWE at the Performance Center. I went down there and did the best I could and I ended up getting a contract.”

Evans went on to compete in the first Mae Young Classic in 2017, losing to current AEW wrestler Tay Melo in the first round. She then developed her "Sassy Southern Belle" heel persona, eventually feuding with Kari Sane.

In December 2018, Evans was drafted to the main roster, making her official debut a month later in the Women's Royal Rumble. In 2019, she faced Natayla at Crown Jewel in the first women's match to take place in Saudi Arabia.

Evans was involved in a controversial storyline in early 2021 where she aligned with Ric Flair while feuding with his daughter Charlotte. The storyline was eventually cancelled after Evans announced she was pregnant.

After welcoming her second daughter, Evans returned to WWE in April 2022 with a series of vignettes talking about her life and in a new military-inspired gimmick.

Evans' last WWE appearance was in dark match on the July 7 episode of SmackDown against Zelina Vega.
