Lakers owner Jeanie Buss reportedly engaged to comedian Jay Mohr
The Los Angeles Lakers' title chances aren't looking too good, but it looks like Jeanie Buss will be getting a ring anyway.
The team's principal owner is engaged to actor/comedian Jay Mohr, according to TMZ. Buss was reportedly seen wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring recently, leading to the outlet confirming their new status.
Buss confirmed she was in a long-term relationship with Mohr last year, and there have been rumors of the two dating as far back as 2017. That's the same year Buss broke up with her previous partner of 17 years, Phil Jackson, to whom she was engaged.
Happiness. Love. Joy.
That’s what you have given me on my birthday and every day in between. This picture, taken at our friend’s wedding in June, tells the story, our story.
I guess really can have it all.
I love you @jaymohr37 ❤️ pic.twitter.com/UzkGZDZ2R8— Jeanie Buss (@JeanieBuss) September 26, 2021
Buss has been married once before to professional volleyball player Steve Timmons from 1990 to 1993. Meanwhile, Mohr was previously married to model Nicole Chamberlain and actress Nikki Cox, with a son from each marriage.
Many sports fans will know Mohr, a Saturday Night Live veteran, from his villainous role in "Jerry Maguire," with plenty of other film and television parts over the years.
However, the news of the couple's engagement also led to some social media enthusiasts looking into Mohr's past tweets and finding a number of them directed at current Lakers star LeBron James, ranging from genuine praise to profane insults against the player's mother. We'll see if that leads to anything.
