NBC has officially renewed all three of its Law & Order shows plus all three of its Chicago universe shows for the upcoming TV season, the company has confirmed.

The news was confirmed on Monday (April 11) that Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: Organized Crime, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. have all been renewed for new seasons. The shows are all produced by TV boss Dick Wolf.

In a statement, President of Scripted Programming at NBCUniversal and streaming Lisa Katz said: "We understand the emotional connection our audience has with these characters and we can’t wait to bring more of their stories to the forefront next season."

Katz continued: "A huge thank you to Dick and his amazing team who are the masters of producing incredibly compelling television week after week."

Wolf himself commented on the renewal news, too, saying: "I’m pleased to continue my four-decade relationship with Universal Television and NBC."

"All six shows being picked up again is the ultimate accolade to our incredible casts, producers, and writers. I’d also like to thank our loyal fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air for what will be a cumulative 84 seasons."

Chicago Fire is currently in its 11th season and, recently, alum Jesse Spencer spoke about his future on the show as Matthew Casey, who returned to Firehouse 51 for a one-off episode following his 2021 exit.

"The idea when I left the show was that if it was appropriate and it would work with the storyline they wanted to do, I would be open – and they would be open – to bringing Casey back," Spencer said.

"The storyline [in Episode 18] does allude to Casey sort of eyeing whether he could actually move back to 51. Can he potentially, in the future, rekindle his relationship with Brett and start that fire again? We’re gonna have to see."

Law & Order: SVU airs Thursdays on NBC in the US. The show airs on Sky Witness in the UK, with select episodes available on NOW.
