Law & Order: Organized Crime crew member killed on set
A Law & Order: Organized Crime crew member has been killed on set of the NBC series.
Deadline reports that a parking enforcement worker, who has been identified by the NYPD as Queens resident Johnny Pizarro, was shot in his vehicle on the Greenpoint, Brooklyn set in New York City on Tuesday (July 19).
Filming was taking place for the third season of the Law & Order franchise show, which stars Christopher Meloni as franchise favourite Detective Elliot Stabler as he investigates the mafia in NYC.

NBC and Universal Television said in a joint statement: "We were terribly saddened and shocked to hear that one of our crew members was the victim of a crime early this morning and has died as a result. We are working with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate. Our hearts go out to his family and friends and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time."
The victim was rushed to NYC Health + Hospital/Woodhull just after the shooting occured, around 5.15am ET, but was pronounced dead soon after arrival at around 6am ET. No arrests have yet been made.
The regular filming schedule for Law & Order: Organized Crime was cancelled for the rest of the day. NBC has yet to confirm when production will resume.
The case remains active and anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to contact the NYPD's Crime Stoppers tipline.
A spokesperson for NYC Mayor Eric Adam's office said on Tuesday: "No shooting is acceptable, which is why we are working every day to get illegal guns off New York City streets. The NYPD is actively investigating the fatal shooting of a crew member of Law and Order: Organized Crime early this morning.
"We offer our deepest condolences to the victim's family, friends, and coworkers during this difficult time, and will work diligently to bring the suspect to justice and stem the tide of gun violence we are seeing.”
Law & Order: Organized Crime, as well as the original Law & Order series and spin-off Special Victims Unit, were all recently renewed for additional seasons by NBC.
